Bespoke Room Dividers we made for the Japanese Restaurant at the Savoy Hotel London.
We’re Nick Flynn and Stephanie McKenna and we are artists who have been trading for 38 years now, making Room Dividers and blinds. We’ve made Japanese Room Dividers (Shojis) for ‘Renovate Don’t Relocate’, ‘Double Your House For Half The Money’, ‘Grand Designs’ and ‘The Chelsea Flower Show’ on BBC2 as well as countless clients from the North of Scotland to London and down to Cornwall. We’ve had a few ‘celebrity’ clients too, and we made Japanese room dividers for the Dutch Embassy in London. Originally we made Panel Blinds for the London market – Panel Blinds were popular for room dividers, and they were common in Southern Europe. Panel Blinds became more popular with wood horizontal trim, and then with entire wood framing- so Panel Blinds became Shoji Blinds! We use ‘Obeche’ which is the lightest weight timber on the planet apart from Balsa, and it’s incredibly beautiful, stable and ideal for room dividers. Our Shojis need no bottom track so they are less vulnerable compared to conventional Shojis, and for the same reason we don’t use paper- our Japanese clients ask us to use ‘Tranquil’ polyester which looks exactly like paper. There are lots of wood colours to choose from- call us for a FREE sample pack! Prices are way below those of ‘normal’ Shojis.
Did your room have a divider wall once? And now you need a Japanese sliding room divider that you can slide out of the way? Our room dividers are the answer! At only a third of the cost of conventional Japanese room dividers / Shoji Screens, they need no bottom track and you can have any fabric in them. Of course, on a lower budget panel blinds are ideal, without wood framing.
Japanese Sliding Room Dividers and Panel Blinds with a difference!
